E-Commerce Engine

E-Commerce Engine is a reusable commerce core built so new storefronts can focus on brand and customer experience instead of rewriting cart, checkout, order, payment, inventory, and admin logic from scratch.

The Problem

Most small commerce builds start from scratch or from UI templates that do not carry durable backend rules, making reuse across clients slow and fragile.

The Insight

The reusable part of a store is rarely the theme. The lasting leverage sits in data models, validation contracts, server modules, checkout formulas, order state, payment review, inventory movement, and admin workflows.

The Solution

I structured the app as a same-origin Next.js engine with a presentation layer, server-domain engine layer, shared Zod contract layer, Prisma data layer, and thin client integration helpers. The implemented domains cover auth, catalog, inventory, cart, checkout preview, order placement, manual-transfer payment review, promotions, settings, audit logs, addresses, admin dashboard, and admin users. The goal is to make future storefront work mostly a presentation and branding exercise while keeping commerce behavior stable and reusable.
